Resident Director - 2 positions JOB SUMMARY: The Resident Director’s (RD) responsibilities include supervising a staff of Resident Assistants, coordinating special projects (i.e. RA Selection, RA Training and Staff Development, Move in Weekend, Room Reservation), Maintenance/Housekeeping, and serving as a Judicial Hearing Officer. This is a full-time, 12 month position. Evening and Weekends hours are required. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Staff Supervision Serve as the supervisor for a staff of 6 Resident Assistants Maintain close working relationship with RAs through regular meetings, staff development and trainings Evaluate and provide feedback to the Resident Assistant staff Assess and monitor Resident Assistant programming efforts Student Development Available and accessible to students by meeting with them informally and formally Serve as a residence life representative at College wide events Resolve roommate conflicts and shared living space disputes Be familiar with and provide information regarding campus and community resources and services Advise Residence Hall Council Communicate weekly upcoming residence life events and activities Student Conduct Enforce Residence Life and College policies and regulations Meet with student violators to establish proper social and behavioral norms Serve as a hearing officer Adjudicate lower level violations of the Residence Life Handbook Refer higher level violations of the Residence Life Handbook and College Code of Conduct to Director of Residence Life and Dean for Student Affairs Administrative Respond to emergency calls on a 24 hour basis Participate in a rotation on-call duty system and be available to respond when on duty Maintain regular office hours as established by Director of Residence Life Submit maintenance and repair requests as needed and follow up with facilities department Track all room and hall condition reports Resolve walk in and phone problems of students, parents and campus community Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings Participate in Campus wide projects and/or committees as requested Serve as a liaison between students, parents and residence life staff Assist the Office of Residence Life in establishing its goals and objectives Other responsibilities as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred Master’s degree in College Student Personnel or related field preferred 1-2 years post Baccalaureate experience as a full time residence life staff member preferred Background in crisis intervention, student conduct, student development and student supervision desired Counseling Required Bachelor’s Degree Strong Organizational, management and teamwork skills Solid administration and computer skills required Excellent interpersonal communication skills Willingness and desire to work respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds required SALARY: $25,000-$28,000(depending on experience) plus furnished two bedroom apartment with laundry facilities DEADLINE: Applications will be reviewed upon receipt; review will continue until position is filled.
