Director of Grants and Resource Development Duties: The Director of Grants Development reports to the President and is responsible for obtaining external resources to help support the College’s mission, goals and objectives and priority initiatives. This includes: conducting development research; designing projects for submission to external sponsors; forming internal/external teams and partnerships to develop and implement projects; writing grant proposals; and conducting grant stewardship. Responsibilities also include, but not limited to: researching external sponsors and identifying those that have potential for supporting the College’s missions and goals; creating projects for philanthropic and grant support, writing case statements and grant proposals; communicating information about grants and other funding sources to the College community; collaborating with the Executive Cabinet in providing leadership to form project teams to develop projects for submission to external funding sources; forming external partnerships to work on projects collectively to broaden funding opportunities; providing training and workshops to the SUNY RCC community on grant development and preparation which includes providing a full spectrum of assistance to faculty and staff in the planning, writing, program design, budget development, and evaluation of grants, fulfilling compliance requirements, and implementing grants awarded to the College; collaborating with grant program officers at government agencies, corporations and foundations; participating in College committees to help identify college-wide needs, implement new initiatives and resolve issues; collaborating with the executive director of the RCC Foundation on grants and other philanthropic projects; participating in professional development activities; writing, updating and distributing the Development Office Grant Report; and other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: The successful candidate must possess: • Master’s in Communications, Education or other related field • Minimum of 5 years in grants and/or resource development • Thorough knowledge of the grant process, which includes but is not limited to project development, proposal writing, application processes and stewardship • Knowledge of prospect research, case statement development and major donor cultivation and solicitation and knowledge of government, corporate and foundation funding sources and knowledge of funding trends at national, state, and local levels • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse constituents, including government leaders, grant program officers, business and community leaders, college Trustees, President, Executive Council and faculty • Proven budget development experience • Excellent research, analytical, and organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in related field.
