Job Title: Office Associate/Mailroom Clerk Position #: S03014 Grade: E Bargaining Non-exempt Location: Takoma Park/ Silver Spring Salary Range: $16.01 - $21.66 per hour Online applications must be received by Thursday, May 9, 2013. Montgomery College, Takoma Park/Silver Spring (TPSS), Department of Facilities and Security, has need for a full time Office Associate/Mailroom Clerk. Work schedule is Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. Job Summary: Position is responsible for the overall operations of two mailrooms and the dissemination and daily delivery of mail and packages. This position is also responsible for management of a copy room. Leadership and training skills will be applied for the management of student employees. Duties include but are not limited to the following: Manage the delivery of campus and US Postal Service (USPS) mail Receive, record, and distribute packages delivered by multiple carriers daily on campus and on occasion, deliver in various weather conditions Sort mail for pick-up by intercampus mail courier Ensure all outgoing mail has adequate labeling Maintain a current list of all mailbox holders in both mailrooms on the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus Open and close the copy room daily Ensure supplies and toner are well stocked Maintain repair records and record copy count periodically Use of hand carts as well as lifting and walking Responsible for enforcing institutional policies and procedures to manage College mail and deliveries Manage and oversee multiple student employees Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Prior office experience, preferably in an academic setting Customer Service experience Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: 2 years of mail distribution experience in a mailroom or for multiple departments/areas with large amounts of mail Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record Strong oral and written communication skills Excellent customer service skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Application Process: Online applications must be received by Thursday, May 9, 2013.
