Classification Title Full Time Monthly Staff Position Title Director of Teaching and Learning Posting Number FY11/12098SF Position Status Full-time FLSA Exempt Salary and Benefits This is a full-time Exempt position in Salary Grade 620; the salary grade minimum in Grade 620 is $46,412; the successful candidate’s salary may be adjusted based on education and experience; the position is eligible for full-time College benefits Campus NF General Description The purpose of this position is to develop, implement and administer a comprehensive program that addresses, but is not limited to, the following: excellence in teaching regardless of modality, the scholarship of effective professional instruction and learning, learning outcomes assessment at the classroom and program level, the effective use of technology in the classroom; improving effective professional instruction and learning to meet the needs of a diverse population regardless of modality, and expanding the quality, diversity, and number of professional development opportunities for faculty focused on improving instruction and providing quality learning opportunities at the college. Qualifications: Education Masters degree required; Masters in instructional technology, curriculum and instruction or a related field preferred Qualification:Experience A combination of three years of experience in formal teaching, curriculum design and/or instructional design technology required; experience at the post secondary level preferred Qualification:Skills Successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work with college faculty to design instruction for face-to-face, online and interactive television delivery. A knowledge of the Sakai learning management system is preferred. Must be able to lead workshops and professional development activities related to instructional pedagogy to promote effective teaching and learning experiences for faculty and students. Special Instructions to Applicants Position is responsible for training all new faculty in the use of Sakai learning management system.
