Position Information Position Title: Campus Dir Financial Aid Admin Department Name Student Financial Assistance Campus or Location Corporate College West Vacancy Number 070-14 Reports To Executive Director Recruitment Type Job Category Administrator Position Type Full-Time Union Position Non-Union Number of Openings 1 Job Description Summary The Campus Director of Student Financial Assistance [SFA] serves as a member of the SFA Leadership Team which is comprised of campus directors at the other two campuses the District Director for Quality Assurance, Operations, and Systems and the Executive Director for SFA. This position provides leadership for the operational activities of the Eastern Campus Student Financial Assistance Department, ensuring accurate dissemination of information to the campus community including students, staff, administration and faculty. The focus is to provide student-centered service and adherence to all Federal, State regulations and College policies. The incumbent works closely with all campus Student Affairs units, the Administration and Finance Department, and the Enrollment Management Department to ensure all steps in the enrollment process support student success. Job Responsibilities Participates in the development of College SFA policies and procedures and ensures a uniform execution at the campus. Leads, supervises, trains and evaluates the work of campus SFA advisors and other full-time and part-time staff as assigned in accordance with College policies, collective bargaining contracts and labor laws. Participates in the establishment of positive controls and procedures that ensure financial aid funds are disbursed to students promptly and in the correct amount. Ensures compliance of financial aid recipients with the SFA academic standards as required by federal regulations including, but not limited to, satisfactory grades, attendance, class selections, and progress. Maintains communication with all campus student affairs units and Office of Finance and Business Services. Coordinates all campus SFA activities with other College SFA units to assure that information exchanges and transactions occur in a timely and consistent manner. Knowledgeable and up-to-date on student financial aid laws and regulations to various constituents, staying abreast of and assimilating frequent changes, and implementing revised procedures as required. Develop, administer and monitor campus department budget Works cooperatively and collaboratively with other college units charged with student postsecondary transition, retention and outreach activities. Serves on campus and college wide committees as assigned. Required Qualifications Master’s degree Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in a Financial Aid department Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated responsibility in managing, evaluating, training, and directing support staff Knowledge of and experience working with computerized financial aid systems. Thorough knowledge and expertise in the area of federal and state student financial aid programs and regulations. Ability to interpret and implement complex Federal Title IV and State regulations related to financial aid. Strong written and oral communications skills. Ability to work in cross functional quality teams, including the ability to work comfortable with numerous constituents at the campus and district level. Ability to analyze business systems for purposes of process improvement. Ability to supervise others. Skill in interpreting and applying rules and regulations to a variety of individual student situations and circumstances. Ability to understand how automated financial aid systems affect individual student records. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in meeting the needs of diverse student populations. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience with BANNER Financial Literacy/Education Certification Work Schedule Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm; Available to work evening and weekends as needed.
