Posting Details Position Information Posting Number 20110159 Job Title Administrative/Accounting Assistant Business Office Job Category Staff Position Summary Information Job Description Summary Southwestern Michigan College, a two-year college located approximately 30 minutes north of South Bend, Indiana, and approximately 30 minutes from Lake Michigan’s eastern shore is seeking a full-time Administrative/Accounting Assistant to work in the College’s Business Office reporting directly to the VP and Chief Business Officer. This position will assist with a wide variety of administrative responsibilities, which include but are not limited to: drafting correspondence, preparing reports and complex documents, coordinating the campus mail room and related projects such as mass mailings, as well as scheduling appointments and addressing telephone inquiries. Responsibilities will also include support for the various functions of the Business Office, which may include: financial development, accounts payable, cashier activities and student accounts receivable, including payment plan collections. Required Qualifications The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of business/accounting processes and exhibit the aptitude for numerical details as well as provide a high level of customer service. Requirements include; associate degree with five or more years of office related experience. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and experience working with MS Office products are required. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree Working knowledge of Banner operating systems Other Information Flexibility in scheduling is required as this position will provide coverage to the Business Office during regular working hours, which includes a shared rotation schedule of evening hours once a month and periodic Saturdays.
