Coordinate hosting, software deployment/optimization and professional services with vendor of hosted CMS. Reports To (Title of individual) Director of Print & E-Media Responsibilities Plan the design, installation, implementation, configuration and maintenance of the development, testing and production within the CMS systems. Collaborate with CMS vendor analysts with designing, planning and implementing server, hosting and content environments. Evaluate, recommend and use software tools to monitor and manage CMS health and performance, and provides management with reports regarding CMS health. Establish requirements and formulate proper documentation to ensure consistency and adherence to standards and policies and procedures, working with product vendors on installations and upgrades. Create and adhere to change control and release/configuration management standards and policies. Monitor environment for proper operation within established performance and availability expectations. Maintain current knowledge of trends and future directions for CMS applications and infrastructure environments. Develop strategic technical implementation plans and work plans for technical teams. Provide training and mentoring to other team members through knowledge transfer activities. Implement in liaison with CMS vendor and provide support of security measures and products related to CMS including application installs, upgrades, vulnerability assessment and patch management. Participate in the specifications for proper sizing and configuring of cloud-based vendor CMS web servers, application servers and database server. Participate in the applicable support and assistance necessary in defining infrastructure processes and associated components, analyzing improvement opportunities, establishing and troubleshooting enterprise network connectivity. Works directly with Customer Care Center to resolve issues related to the HCCS.edu website and the content management system. Participate in the planning of CMS and its related utility upgrades and patches, and the development of disaster recovery plans for the CMS environments. Provide input and technical support in troubleshooting complex issues within the CMS application, software and hardware environments. Provide applicable support and assistance in defining infrastructure processes and associated components, analyzing improvement opportunities, establishing and troubleshooting enterprise network connectivity. Other duties may be assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise web developers to deliver web functionality throughout the district site that satisfy HCC's strategic vision and business goals. Budgeting Authority No Travel Required Minimal Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. Certification Requirements Experience Requirements Minimum of five (5) years related work experience in programming and developing web applications including two (2) years of management experience required. NOTE: Part-time experience will be counted as half of full-time experience; for example, two (2) years of part-time experience will equal one (1) year of full-time experience. Emphasis on Web -related software system design, implementation and support in various genres; database design, design and development experience. Experience with databases and ability to research web solutions, including but not limited to the following technologies, SQL, Microsoft Access, Oracle, Sybase; Proficiency in programming, including Java, HTML, PHP, SQL, XML, ColdFusion, Perl, CSS, Javascript; portal products/portal development (open source platforms); cloud solutions deployment, including mobile applications, e-catalog solutions and multi-media platforms. Experience with active directory integration required. Experience with relational database management systems required. Experience in implementation of automated information systems and leading projects from a technical perspective is required. Experience with portal products/portal development, including deployment of mobile technologies. Work experience in a higher education institution or community college environment is preferred.
