The Executive Assistant for Academic Operations:
Fulfills responsibilities delegated by the Academic Vice President for the administration, coordination, and facilitation needs of the Academic Program Office;
Expected to maintain high standards of professionalism in assuring that at least 40 hours per week are spent in the performance of these responsibilities and duties.
Staff Required Education/Experience:
Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college.
Minimum 2 years progressively responsible experience in an administrative or support capacity in an educational setting.
The candidate must possess:
Excellent interpersonal communications skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, the general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information effectively and clearly.
Excellent written communication skills for preparing data, records, and reports to assist the Academic Programs Organization in meeting their responsibilities.
Interpretation and dissemination skills with complex guidelines and reports.
An understanding of budgets.
Ability to multitask effectively and efficiently.
Excellent Ellucian/Datatel, Colleague, Informer, and Sharepoint skills.
Ability to establish priorities, anticipate department administrative and support needs, and work in an organized manner, with emphasis on detail, accuracy, and follow up in work product.
A high level of reliability, creativity and commitment to maintain confidentiality.
Proficiency with MS Suite applications.
Faculty Required Education/Experience Skills:
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Minimum 3 years progressively responsible experience in an administrative or support capacity in an educational setting.
Understanding and Experience with:
New Program Proposal/Administration
North Carolina Community College System
Standard Academic Program practices knowledge
SACS procedures and guidelines
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Qualified candidates must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills and have the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in personal computer applications including word processing, electronic mail, electronic calendar, database, and spreadsheet. Previous budget management experience and ability to research, compile, analyze (using mathematical capability) and present complex information is preferable. The candidate must be flexible, be able to maintain confidentiality, and be able to interact professionally with diverse constituencies.
