Assistant Professor, Associate Professor
The School of Business and Public Affairs of the College of Coastal Georgia is seeking applications for a faculty position in economics with areas of interest in public economics, urban and regional economics and microeconomics. The candidate will teach required classes in the Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs and in the Bachelor of Business Administration. The successful candidate will also have an appointment in the College’s Coastal Georgia Center for Economic Analysis and Student Research and be responsible for conducting economic impact studies. The School has long range plans that include seeking AACSB accreditation.
This is a tenure-track, 10 month academic year appointment. Rank is based on academic experience. Review of applications will begin immediately. This position is contingent upon funding.
The candidate will teach (12 hours per semester), advise students, maintain a portfolio of research, work/lead on Coastal Georgia Center projects, and work within faculty governance. Several components of the College’s strategic plan are built around extensive student engagement. A commitment to service-learning and internships are within the responsibilities associated with the position.
The successful candidate will have earned the Ph.D. degree from a regionally accredited college or university, posses excellent teaching ability, have an on-going research agenda and experience with economic impact studies, and experience with service-learning. ABD candidates may also apply if it is expected that the degree will be awarded by the end of 2014.
