Job Description Summary
Southwestern Michigan College, a two-year college located approximately 30 minutes north of South Bend, Indiana, and approximately 30 minutes from Lake Michigan’s eastern shore is seeking applications for a full-time Nursing Instructor. The primary responsibilities of this position include theory and clinical components of teaching in nursing medical/surgical and pharmacology.
Requirements include a Master’s degree in nursing, valid nursing license in Michigan and possibly Indiana, and experience in clinical nursing practice. Successful candidates must also demonstrate a strong commitment to student success and collaboration. All applicants must exhibit knowledge of computer and technical skills commensurate with subject area.
Prior teaching experience preferred.
All applicants must demonstrate the ability to promote active and collaborative learning through a variety of teaching methods, as well as relate to students. Excellent organization and communication skills as well as the demonstrated use of instructional technology are required.
Special Instructions to Applicants
Candidate would be teaching as adjunct for the summer of 14’ Pharmacology and be a full time Medical Surgical and Pharmacology nursing instructor for the Fall of 14’.
