Summary of Job Duties:

The Postdoctoral Fellow will be responsible for conducting optics and molecular biology experiments, and small animal work. This includes daily equipment calibration (optics), primer design and validation, RNA extraction and reverse cDNA synthesis, and chemotherapeutic drug(s) dosing and administration. The postdoctoral fellow will gain experience with biomedical data analysis and simulation, including using semi-parametric statistical methods to analyze longitudinal data. The postdoctoral fellow will be mentored in the use of tools that enable open and reproducible research such as collaborative work via GitHub, and management of data files in the cloud. Successful candidates will also assist in data analysis, writing grant proposals, and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment

  • Familiarity with BMEG faculty and department
