Elyse Chaplin named associate psychological services dean Rancho Santiago Community College District

Rancho Santiago Community College District has announced the appointment of Elyse K. Chaplin, Ph.D. as associate dean, overseeing psychological services, campus health services, the Veterans Resource Center, and disabled student programs and services at Santa Ana College. In this role, Chaplin is responsible for the supervision and administration, personnel, programs and services, budgets, and overall leadership for all four departments.
With 18 years of experience in higher education, Chaplin offers a wealth of experience as a researcher, counselor, faculty member and administrator. Since 2008, she has served as the principal for Chaplin Educational Services, providing higher education consulting to post-secondary institutions and high schools, as well as providing individual coaching and counseling to college students. Earlier career experiences included teaching in a TRIO program at the University of Maryland College Park, conducting educational and psychological research at several postsecondary institutions, and serving as an assistant dean of students at Brown University in Providence, R.I.
Chaplin earned a B.A. in psychology at York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She earned an M.A. in education and human development and is all but dissertation (ABD) on an Ed.D. in higher education administration and leadership from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
