January 18, 2012
The Mitchell Community College Board of Trustees voted to approve the three finalists recommended by the search committee in its quest for a new president Friday.
The three are Dr. James “Tim” Brewer, executive vice president and chief academic officer at MCC ; Dr. Kristi Snuggs, vice president of instruction at Edgecombe Community College in Tarboro ; and Dr. Rod Townley, vice president of academic programs at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in Salisbury.
The final hurdle for the candidates in a process that began in October is next week’s “Meet and Greet,” a series of meetings being held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during which the candidates will be questioned by various groups.
The faculty and staff of MCC, the college’s President’s Council, the Board of Trustees and the leaders of other school organizations, which includes school superintendents, school board members and county commissioners, will each have their own separate question - and - answer session with the three.
