Firms are hungry to help design and build new culinary arts center for Niagara County Community College

A handful of firms have expressed interest in performing architectural and engineering work on the culinary arts center project in downtown Niagara Falls.

Niagara County Community College President James Klyczek said Thursday eight bids were received from firms interested in handling the design of the college’s culinary arts institute which will be located inside the old Rainbow Centre Mall building.

Klyczek said college officials are planning to select a preferred architectural and engineering firm by Jan. 19. Bids for a construction manager to oversee the entire project are due by Jan. 7. Klyczek said he’d like to have the construction management team in place by Feb. 2.

“We are steamrolling ahead here,” Klyczek said.
