Because of his new role as mayor of Simi Valley, Bob Huber was forced to resign from his position as chair of the Ventura County Community College District halfway through his four-year term.
Longtime Moorpark resident Bernardo Perez was appointed to fill the empty seat.
The Ventura County Community College District is governed by a five-member locally elected board of trustees plus one student board member. The board directs the business policies for the district and its colleges: Moorpark College, Oxnard College and Ventura College.
In a letter tendering his resignation from the board, Huber said it was “with a heavy heart and mixed feelings” that he must leave after six years on the board—the past two as chair.
