Students at Owens Community College can now
get a two-year Associates Degree in alternative energy.
The State of Ohio recently approved Owen's
new program called the Alternative Energy and Sustainable Systems
Technology Program.
Owens' Co-Interim Dean for the School of
Technologies Randy Wharton said the program will allow students to learn
hands-on about alternative energy.
"We are looking to train people to not only
be technicians, but also to understand the technology behind it," said
Wharton. "We are in a part of Northwest Ohio where we are a center,
really, for alternative energy." |
