Jason Liptow, a former community college instructor who was fired over Facebook posting, says his union activity was real reason for firing

A former Mid Michigan Community College adjunct professor who was fired over a Facebook posting thinks the real reason for was union activity.

Jason Liptow believes that he was fired because just weeks before, he notified MMCC President Carol A. Churchill that he was going to form a union.

Being a four year adjunct professor, Liptow was looking for a little job stability.

“I decided to start organizing a union and notified the president of the college via email in the first week of November,” he said.

A few weeks later, he was out of a job. The reason given: His Facebook status.
