Southeastern Community College president Beverly Simone retires this summer At a meeting Thursday, the Southeastern Community College Board of Trustees took a major step in the process of finding a replacement for SCC President Beverly Simone, who is retiring this summer.
The trustees unanimously voted to hire Paul Greufe of P.J. Greufe and Associates, a Davenport consulting firm, as the company to help the trustees find a suitable replacement for Simone.
Earlier this week, the trustees agreed to terminate a 360-degree evaluation on Simone, which would have been conducted by P.J. Greufe and Associates.
"Paul is someone to facilitate the president search that would be independent of the college," said Brian Roth, chairman of the trustees. "Because we are volunteers, we really don't have the time nor the expertise to go through that process. We have done this with every presidential search that I'm aware of."
SCC plans to pay P.J. Greufe and Associates more than $18,000 to help conduct the search.
Roth said there is no immediate timeframe to find a replacement for Simone.
Greufe, who attended Thursday's meeting, said it's up to the trustees to establish a timeline to find Simone's replacement.
"It depends on how quick you guys want to move forward with this," he said. "It won't be just me running the show. I have a handful of people that will be helping me out."
