Job Description

Description of Duties:  Classified II, Faculty Assistant, LVN-CCC: The Classified II position reports to the Director of Associate Degree Nursing and is responsible for secretarial duties in support of the instructional program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Typing and maintaining official school correspondence, minutes of standing committees, purchase orders, travel requisitions, and supply requisitions. 

2) Compiling and entering information required for the annual reports of the Board of Nurse Examiners, and the National League of Nursing.

3) Maintaining commonly used supplies for the function of the office.

4) Receiving visitors, answering the telephone, conveying messages to the students, the faculty and the Director.

5) Typing and reproducing course outlines, examinations, syllabi, and other materials for the instructional program.

6) Maintaining correspondence and admissions files.

7) Periodically completing an inventory of files and recommending that certain items be discarded.

8) Assisting the Director in compiling and maintaining accurate records, including student applications and transcripts, physical examinations, licensure verification, nursing certification, records on former and current students, contracts with various agencies, attendance records and reports, and other information. 

9) Coordinating the admissions procedures and files with the Admissions Office on campus.

10) Supervising testing of all potential nursing students.

11) Supervising work study, lab assistants, and computer laboratory. 

12) Performing other duties as requested by the Director and the faculty which may be unique to the position.

13) Assisting with other College functions as requested by the Director, the Dean of Instruction, and the President.

Travel Required: Occasional to Vernon and Seymour

Experience and Training: Two years' experience in administrative/clerical support.

Education: High school graduate or GED required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be proficient in use of computers and Microsoft Office software programs. Knowledge of filing, report preparation, correspondence, and professional etiquette required. Interpersonal communication skills are necessary as regular contact with students, faculty, and the public are essential to job function.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in business with focus preferred. Associates degree or higher preferred.

Minimum Educational Qualifications: High School diploma or GED

Salary or Salary Range: This is a full time 12 month position with full time benefits. The salary is $23,290 based on the Classified II salary scale. Applications will be accepted until this position is filled. This position is available on September 10, 2022.
