Working under the leadership of a college President or a Vice President, the Dean is the principal academic and budgetary officer for the Center. Provides positive leadership regarding academic personnel, curricular, student services, center operations, and budgetary decisions that further the mission of the institution in its service to the community. Works collaboratively with the campus and center leadership, Identify, develop, and implement consistent, high-quality customer service standards that will support the mission, vision and goals of Lone Star College (LSC). Provides a visible presence in the community as a representative of the LSC-Center.
Manages, monitors, and administers area budgets to support the Centers’ goals and programs. Implements budget controls and performs needs assessments for development of annual budgeting recommendations.
Provides leadership, coordination, assessment and oversight of a variety of Center instructional and operational areas, ensuring an overall integrated system. Areas may include but are not limited to admissions, registration, financial aid, bookstore, security, and facilities management.
Maintains oversight of personnel hiring and scheduling, and resolves or provides input into student and other personnel issues.
Develops and pursues professional relationships with area ISD's, higher education institutions, and community organizations to increase educational partnerships and to determine community educational needs, as well as to seek alternative sources of funding to support the Center.
Implements and utilizes student feedback systems to ensure offerings and services are effective and meet student and community needs within the center’s service area. Assures schedules at Centers meet non-traditional adult student needs as well as dual credit schedules.
Evaluates data and major trends with potential impact on the growth and development of instructional programs. Identifies unmet institutional needs/opportunities and opportunities and submits recommendations for meeting those needs. Provides leadership for Unit Planning and Evaluation.
Work with Director of College Relations to develop competitive marketing plan for the Centers.
Creates, analyzes, and utilizes a variety of detailed reports to ensure fiscal accountability as well as effective planning of services. Uses data-driven information in decision-making and to provide informed updates to Administration.
Serves on various committees as required, and serves as a community resource person representing LSC to outside groups as needed.
Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.
At least 7 years of related work experience, at least 3 in a Manager- or Director-level position

Hiring Salary is $84,502
Work Schedule & Conditions
PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment.
Internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.
Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
