Definition Under general supervision of the full-time Department Coordinator, provides technical assistance and support tasks to students and faculty in the Digital Media Arts & Design computer labs. Assignments are expected to be approximately 14 hours per week, and not to exceed 28 hours per week or 160 days per Fiscal Year. Example of Duties: Duties may include, but not limited to, the following:Oversee student computer, scanner and printer use within the lab. Make student lab I.D. Cards. Monitor and distribute ink cartridges, photo paper and other lab supplies. Check in/out, monitor inventory and demonstrate proper operation of lab equipment. Respond to student questions and provide information regarding subject matter. Prepare student projects for printing application. Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of:Modern office practices, procedures, methods and electronic technology. Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary. Current word processing, spreadsheet and database programs, methods and techniques. Apple Macintosh computer systems and file management. Current Adobe Creative Cloud software including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Muse, Flash and After Effects. Digital cameras, image scanning, and preparing files for print. Ability to:Learn and work within the policies, functions, and requirements of area of assignments. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Operate a Macintosh computer at an intermediate level. Assist students with technical difficulties regarding assignments. Perform general clerical functions related to the operation of lab software and equipment. Exercise good judgment and discretion in resolving confidential, difficult and sensitive situations. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, faculty, and staff contacted in the course of work.Desirable Qualifications:Experience working with students. Completion of at least two semesters in Digital Media Arts & Design. Graphic design, animation or multimedia experience. Conditions of Employment Employment is on a part-time, temporary basis and contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification as governed under Education Code requirements, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. Assignments are short-term, temporary, and do not offer fringe benefits or pay for holidays or time not worked, and are limited to 28 hours per week or 160 days per fiscal year. The hours of work and effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor. This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises.
