Job Description1. schedule regular activities in the Teaching-Learning Center that support excellence in teaching and faculty development; 2. facilitate systematic ongoing conversations among faculty groups about teaching and learning; 3. disseminate information about current research and best practices in teaching and learning; 4. coordinate the New Faculty Orientation at the start of each fall and spring semester; 5. supervise the Adjunct Teaching Institute and coordinate stipends for eligible participants with Durham Tech Foundation leadership; 6. assist faculty in the implementation of assessment activities for student learning outcomes; 7. organize and facilitate longitudinal faculty development activities, such as Faculty/Staff Interest Groups (FIGs) and Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL); 8. recruit full-time and part-time faculty to participate in TLC programming; 9. work with Student Learning and Instructional Services division faculty and staff on comprehensive projects related to teaching and learning; 10. chair the TLC advisory committee; 11. publish Learning Matters every other year; 12. present the TLConference every other year; 13. assist faculty members with individual teaching and learning projects; 14. manage the new faculty mentor program; and 15. carry out any committee or other responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President, Student Learning and Instructional Services; or the President.
Education: Master’s degree in Education or related field Work Experience: A minimum of two years of full-time experience in community college teaching. Must be currently employed full-time at Durham Tech.

Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and effective oral and written communication/public relation skills; 5. Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; 6. Knowledge of web page design; 7. Experience in managing budgets; 8. Ability to make presentations to large audiences; and 9. Understanding of the mission, goals, and objectives of Durham Tech.
