Full Job Description
- Serves as chief academic and chief student services officer responsible for the integration of academic and student services with a focus on student success.
- Provides leadership and guidance for academic and student services and the college in the development, operation, and coordination of areas within student services and in the ongoing process of strategic planning to ensure institutional effectiveness.
- Serves as a member of the Presidents Cabinet, advocating for the needs and interests of students and staff, reporting data and trends regarding the student population and program needs, and contributing ideas for the advancement of the college.
- Oversees institutional learning resources, including library, tutoring, and online learning service.
- Works with deans, faculty, and staff to develop and implement high quality educational offerings for all academic programs and student services.
- Participates in developing and implementing the colleges strategic plan, particularly in areas related to recruitment, enrollment, retention, student access, program evaluation, allocation of financial resources, curricular change, and staff development.
- Interprets and implements state and local policies relating to academic and student services.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with business, government agencies, high schools, other community colleges, and universities to facilitate the planning and delivery of education and student services.
- Participates in the planning, development, and implementing of college policies and programs related to instruction and student services.
- Performs other duties as assigned at the direction of the President.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Earned doctorate from an accredited institution.
- Higher education teaching experience.
- Demonstrated experience in community college administration, including supervision of instructional programs or student services.
- Demonstrated skill in financial administration, including developing, implementing, and managing a unit budget, expenses, and related items.
- Demonstrated ability to develop policies and procedures; to develop and implement strategic planning initiatives.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, management, organizational skills, including proficiency in written and oral communication.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrated knowledge of institutional and programmatic accreditation, program development and approval, and institutional assessment.
