Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Compton Community College District is now accepting applications for anticipated part-time faculty positions to teach courses with emphasis in Medical Terminology.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Offer and acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the employment application, credential(s), transcripts, fingerprint results, and tuberculosis examination as required. Candidates selected for employment will be required to provide verification of work authorization in the form of a passport, valid driver's license, or other equivalent identification, and social security card.

 

SALARY

The starting salary ranges from $41.28 - $72.27 hourly, depending on education and experience.

 

Required Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Any Bachelor's degree and two (2) full-time equivalent years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment, OR

Any Associate's degree and six (6) full-time equivalent years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment; OR

Possess a valid California Community College instructor credential in appropriate subject issued prior to July 1, 1990 (per California Education Code 87355) OR

The equivalent- Candidates not possessing the required qualifications as stated above, must complete the supplemental page of the district application and explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above.

Have sensitivity to and understanding of multi-cultural, diverse environments and college students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Recent community college teaching experience.

Degrees in a health-related field.
