CHARACTERISTIC, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a full-time 9-10 month faculty appointment. Under the direction of the Nursing Program Director, this position serves as the didactic and on-campus lab instructor and faculty member in direct patient long-term care areas. The faculty member is responsible for supervision and education of nursing assisting students with application of classroom and on-campus lab knowledge to the clinical site at a long-term care facility. Classes meet during the fall and spring academic semester and summer session days, evenings, and some weekends. The didactic portion is presented partially or fully on-line. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary based on experience and education; plus a retention supplement. (Retention supplement may vary and is contingent on availability of state funding)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors of Science in Nursing from an NLN-accredited program with enrollment in a NLN-accredited graduate program in Nursing (within the first academic year). A minimum two years' experience as a registered nurse, and a current unencumbered licensure or eligible for licensure in New Mexico as a registered nurse. Communicate effectively orally and in writing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in long-term care as a registered nurse. Experience teaching nursing assisting students. Previous experience with Blackboard and web delivery of courses is preferred.
