Coordinator of High School Programs

Location: Morristown Campus (Employees are assigned to a “home” location but may occasionally or regularly be required to work at other WSCC locations.)

Job Purpose: The overall purpose of this job is to assist the division and the college in coordinating the administration/operation of high school programs such as the dual enrollment, local dual credit, and other early post-secondary opportunities within the area high schools inside the ten-county service area.

Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for routinely visiting 24 high schools in Walters States ten-county service area to conduct information sessions on the Dual Enrollment Program and other early post-secondary opportunities; communicating course requests with high school guidance counselors each semester and compiling a list of courses to be approved by the Dean of Distance Education; analyzing various reports (enrollment census, fee balance, and dual enrollment grant) to forecast enrollment results to high school counselors.

Assist the Director of K12 Partnerships and Teaching Centers with the operations of the colleges Dual Enrollment Program including the recruitment, registration, grant applications and verifications, fees and other required documentation.
Assist and provides management for the other high school programs available through the college such as local dual credit and/or other early post-secondary opportunities.

Monitors SAC-COC Substantive Change regulations pertaining to dual enrollment teaching sites.
Assist in coordinating the Dual Enrollment Program with area high schools and help develop and process dual enrollment applications for high school students. Advise students, parents, and high school counselors of Faculty Feedback alerts (early alert system) to better serve and retain students.
May perform other duties as required.

Leadership & Supervisory:
No direct supervisory experience
Formulate and foster relationships with K12 partners
Responsible for planning courses, scheduling dates with area high schools to conduct registrations and information sessions.
Make decisions about expenditures/investments.

Qualifying Job Standards:
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in related field such as Education, Business, Administration or other related fields.
  • 2-3 years of related experience
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment (PC, phone, fax, email, copier, etc.), Banner software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient communication skills for developing relationships and resolving conflicts

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in related field such as Education, Business, Administration or other related fields.
  • 4-7 years of related experience
  • Previous work experience with K12 school system

Environment & Working Conditions: Office environment is temperature controlled with occasional fluctuations. May be exposed to varying conditions when traveling to various work locations.Physical Demands: (including requirements for travel or working nights/weekends/holidays)

Extensive travel by motor vehicle.
Possible night and weekend work related to the dual enrollment program and division
Standing and walking for long periods of time.
Sitting at computer for long periods of time
