Summary:

The CTE Coordinator will develop, facilitate, and coordinate Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs to support CTE, pathways, specializations, magnets, and plans of study with programming and the integration of academics. Assist with compiling, analyzing, and reporting data on an annual

basis to the Colorado Community College System (CCCS). The CTE Coordinator serves as an instructional liaison as part of the Division of Equity in Learning. As such, the CTE Coordinator provides leadership and assists with CTE financial resources 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Daily 20%

Partner and work closely with district and school leaders and staff to maintain a cohesive implementation of APS Career and Technical Education by leading,

developing, monitoring, expanding, evaluation and creating collaboration with programs and personnel, CTE planning to include: guidance and oversight of

pathways, CTE Specializations, internships, externships, apprenticeships, an emphasis on career clusters/pathways and academic integration. Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of equity in the learning experiences of APS students through effective evaluation of the school site programs and ensuring that resources are employed and in alignment with APS 2026 vision and core beliefs.

Collaboratively monitor all schools and district-level CTE activities to ensure that every student is engaged in programs and opportunities related to CTE. Plan and support schools with compliance and accountability measures to verify that every CTE program is meeting compliance for state and federal rules and regulations.

 

Serve and actively participate as the CTE liaison on a variety of District and State committees as an educational leader and voice for Aurora Public School's CTE and Postsecondary and Workforce Readiness & Diversity, Equity, and inclusion

measures.

Support, facilitate, and coordinate any new expansion areas for K12 Career and Technical Education pathways and specializations in conjunction with the

Executive Director of Career and Technical Education through planning and implementation processes, which includes but are not limited to career pathways,

programs of study, program approval, concurrent enrollment, new course proposals and plans of study.

Anticipate and implement the state and federal CTE program guidelines as mandated by CCCS in conjunction with the Executive Director of CTE/District

leadership team, principals, and teachers to ensure program compliance and optimal funding. Lead the District Wide CTE Steering Committee to develop and

maintain a protocol for program expansion and closures.

Serve as a member, and lead, as necessary, district and state committees; prepare and deliver formal presentations to internal and external stakeholders; represent APS Strategic Plan and district core values in all interactions and situations. Serve as members of APS Blueprint Specialization Task Force as the CTE expert to ensure that program and specialization development optimizes revenue for APS.

Apply state and national best practice for CTE, Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO), work based learning, and provide leadership in determining the appropriateness for inclusion in the district's APS Strategic Plan. Provide expertise in the process and implementation of Blueprint specializations and magnet implementation. Help guide and be a resource for specialization work through communication, implementation, program development, new course proposals, and work based learning engagement and delivery.

 

Monthly 10%

Establish and maintain relationships with colleges, state level organizations, foundations, business community, and other sources of support and funding;

developing messaging and ensuring that district and building staff have a common understanding of state and district CTE specializations and pathway initiatives and represent the CTE Team and school district at local, regional and state meetings, task forces and other functions. Coordinates and communicates program objectives and community partnership with Career and Technical Education Advisory Committees and related committees which are composed of community business and industry representatives.

 

Monthly 10%

Supervise and provide leadership, implementation, ongoing evaluation, compliance, accountability and continuous growth of CTE Teachers. Supervise

CTE licensed and classified staff. Conduct performance observations and evaluations.

 

Monthly 10%

Work in conjunction with the Executive Director of CTE to prepare and submit all necessary CTE reports to the CCCS documenting Expenditures, revenue, program quality, program approvals, CTE enrollments and CTE budgets and Perkins Grant funding. Research, draft, and submit CTE grant proposals with APS Grants Department.

Daily 1% Perform other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Master's degree plus additional course work required for certification or

licensure.

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum five years experience in Career and Technical Education (Leadership experience preferred). Experience in program development,

implementation and evaluation, Perkins Grant Management and Compliance, Colorado Technical Act Reporting and , Program Approval

System Management

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EQUIPMENT & OTHER:

Background and recent experience in Career and Technical Education compliance. Computer skills including Microsoft office suite, Outlook, and

Google. As a member of both the Division of Equity in Learning and Pickens Technical College (PTC), the CTE Coordinator must have vision,

independent judgment, strategic planning, and global thinking to provide program direction for Career and Technical Education for secondary

schools. The CTE Coordinator must have strong human relation skills as well as analytical skills, independent thinking, considerable judgment,

and the ability to assess situations and make sound decisions. The CTE Coordinator must have a solid understanding of CTE, economic trends,

and policies, and be able to quickly analyze the impact of decisions on district, student, school, community and state.

 

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS:

Must hold a valid CTE Directors License or be qualified to apply within 90 days of employment and complete related required coursework (up to 9

Graduate Level Credits), valid Principals License preferred. Colorado Teaching License; and valid Colorado driver's license.

 

 

SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Supervise and evaluate the CTE Clerk and Executive Internship contracted

teachers.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and talk or hear. The employee is frequently

required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance;

stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required

by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts and

outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold,

extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

MENTAL FUNCTIONS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to compare, analyze, communicate, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.

 

Job Type: Full-time

 

Pay: $98,257.00 - $132,931.00 per year
