Accounts Receivable Assistant Accountant
Job Description
Position Summary
- Support day-to-day customer service and processing of Accounts Receivable financial transactions
- Supervise Cashier staff
- Assist with all aspects of Accounts Receivable
- Support students with financial account inquiries
This position is located at the main campus and may include managing a virtual office as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensures that posted transactions are compliant with institutional policies using established guidelines and processes using the institutional financial systems.
- Communicates with students regarding their financial account
- Direct supervision to cashiers.
- Daily and monthly reconciliations
- Assists the Accounts Receivable Supervisor with items related to student accounts and other institutional accounts receivable.
- Collaborates with colleagues regarding student financial accounts.
- Performs assigned duties and any other duties to drive the Colleges Vision, to fulfill the Colleges Mission, and to abide by the Colleges Values.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Associate's degree with at least 2 years of accounting administrative, cash handling and customer service experience. OR
- High School/GED with at least 4 years of cash handling and/or accounts receivable experience.
Experience
- 2 years relevant work experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and resolve problems
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to train and review the work of others.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience and knowledge of accounting procedures and accounts receivable
- Competency in Microsoft applications and computer literacy; knowledge and experience in financial software applications, calculators and data entry
- Performance of duties with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to organize and work independently and as part of a team
- Sufficient math skills are required
