Accounts Receivable Assistant Accountant

Job Description

Position Summary

 

  • Support day-to-day customer service and processing of Accounts Receivable financial transactions
  • Supervise Cashier staff
  • Assist with all aspects of Accounts Receivable
  • Support students with financial account inquiries


This position is located at the main campus and may include managing a virtual office as needed. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Ensures that posted transactions are compliant with institutional policies using established guidelines and processes using the institutional financial systems.
  • Communicates with students regarding their financial account
  • Direct supervision to cashiers.
  • Daily and monthly reconciliations
  • Assists the Accounts Receivable Supervisor with items related to student accounts and other institutional accounts receivable.
  • Collaborates with colleagues regarding student financial accounts.
  • Performs assigned duties and any other duties to drive the Colleges Vision, to fulfill the Colleges Mission, and to abide by the Colleges Values.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's degree with at least 2 years of accounting administrative, cash handling and customer service experience. OR
  • High School/GED with at least 4 years of cash handling and/or accounts receivable experience. 


Experience

  • 2 years relevant work experience preferred 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and resolve problems
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to train and review the work of others.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience and knowledge of accounting procedures and accounts receivable
  • Competency in Microsoft applications and computer literacy; knowledge and experience in financial software applications, calculators and data entry
  • Performance of duties with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to organize and work independently and as part of a team
  • Sufficient math skills are required
