Montgomery College, Rockville Campus, has an immediate need for a Full-time Program Coordinator in the Workforce Development Continuing Education Department (WDCE) for the Community Education and Extended Learning Services (CEELS)/Youth Programs The work schedule is Monday – Friday; 8:00 – 4:30. This is a Bargaining position, Non-exempt, Grade 23 position. Non-exempt positions are not eligible to work a secondary job at Montgomery College. Montgomery College promotes and creates a working and learning environment rooted in the basic tenets of fairness, diversity, and inclusiveness. This position is eligible for telework, approval determined by the department, after successful completion of initial employment probationary period.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Manage contract and vendor programs, training and open enrollment courses such as communicating with instructors to set up courses. This includes receiving Course Development forms.
  • Manage and maintain course documentation such as class rosters, attendance lists, student/faculty evaluation forms.
  • Prepare and disseminate instructor course packets containing requirement information for classes including appropriate documentation such as class rosters, attendance sheets, certificate request forms, instructor evaluations, and other necessary information.
  • Respond/resolve difficult and time-sensitive situations such as obtaining substitute instructors on short notice.
  • Notify families of cancellations of classes due to low enrollment, provide information about transfers of the withdrawal and refund policy.
  • Increase community engagement by attending information sharing events, such as camp expos and MCPS events.
  • Receive, maintain, and process any pertinent record related to class registration class roster, and term paperwork.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in education, educational technology, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in a learning institution/environment, working with clients, instructors, and/or students.
  • Two years of experience in an administrative assistant or customer service role with significant interaction with the public by phone, e-mail, and face-to-face.
  • The equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
  • Knowledge of workforce development programs, best practices and emerging trends, as well as requirements for individual courses and/or program criteria for gifted and talented/honor courses for MCPS students as well as for students attending private schools.
  • Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent leadership and customer service skills.
  • Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual – Spanish and English.

Hiring Range $24.45 to $31.77 per hour/annually. Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity.  Please include a complete resume including all relevant and related work experience.
