Recruitment and Testing Specialist

Job Description

Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution in Education, Counseling, or related field. Minimum of two years of experience in coaching, recruiting, college advising, academic support services or related field. Ability to multitask, problem solve, work independently, utilize good judgment, and perform detailed tasks accurately. Willingness to accommodate requests for support outside of regular business hours on occasion, with appropriate notice.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced degree from an accredited institution. Ability to work well with the public in high pressure situations. Ability to multitask and to perform detailed tasks accurately. Strong computer skills with a focus on office applications. General knowledge of community college operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promotes the College to high school students and personnel (principals, counselors, teachers, etc.) to explain benefits of programs. Participates in classroom visitations and other special events to explain programs to prospective students. Provides information regarding admission requirements and program benefits to prospective students and parents/families via phone, mail, and in-person/online visits; follow up with a phone call or email/letter. Develops and maintains relationships with schools in the College service area including Hertford, Bertie, and Northampton County Schools (counselors, teachers, Career and Technical Education coordinators, Early College, and Career and College Promise). Provides follow-up reports regarding recruitment activities and plans. Works with admissions staff to coordinate assigned activities and with the implementation of special projects. Provides campus-wide support during registration, special events, and campus tours. Plans and implements monthly college information sessions. Serves as the College liaison at educational fairs and with local businesses. Assists new students with the enrollment process which includes advising, registration, and career planning. Serves as a consultant to internal departments with recruitment training and new student enrollment training via information sessions, committees, and professional development opportunities. Facilitates planning, organizing, and implementation of special events. Assists with the development and implementation of various interventions to assist students with removing barriers to completion. Provides integrated and targeted support and interventions for student success. Maintains the security of test materials, including test batteries, score stencils, answer keys, answer sheets and score reports. Provides accommodations to those applicants or students who have documented special needs or special circumstances. Scores and reports test results without undue delay. Ensures accurate entry of test data into the campus-wide record keeping system. Completes test reports and high school transcripts as requested by students. Assist students in interpreting and understanding testing results.

Ability to advise students of their course offerings and communicate, both verbally and in writing, with faculty, staff and students in an appropriate and professional manner. Customer service orientation and interpersonal skills. An ability to relate to students from a diverse range of educational, economic, and racial backgrounds. Ability to prioritize, attention to details. Proficiency in computer and office software applications. Punctual. Speaks clearly, sensitively, and persuasively when interacting with stakeholders. Supports the aims, objectives, goals, and mission of the college.

SALARY:
