Coordinator, Intake Assessment (ESOL) - Part Time

Job Description

Class Description

Perform professional level administrative duties assisting with the daily operations of the Continuing Education's Center for Adult and Family Literacy.   This is a part-time, grant position funded through the Consolidated Adult Education and Family Literacy Grant provided by Maryland's Dept. of Labor, Licensing, and Regulations. 
 

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience working with adjunct faculty performing related administrative duties. Master's degree and experience working in Banner preferred.
 

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Implement ESOL program's managed enrollment process including scheduling and management of orientation, intake, and assessments for ESOL students.
  2. Collect and input data regarding assessment and placement of ESOL students as required by funder.
  3. Ensure security of all testing materials.
  4. Administer the implementation of assessments to ESOL students.
  5. Communicate with ESOL learners and instructors/tutors regarding placement, progress and attendance issues.
  6. Work with ESOL program staff to address the special needs of enrolled learners, including individuals with disabilities.
  7. Assist in the referral process of ESOL learners to support services and/or outside agencies.
  8. Distribute assessment materials and attendance documentation to adjunct faculty in the field.
