Job Description Summary:

To design, create, construct, and maintain Austin Community College's (ACC) webpages, as well as other areas of the college's web presence, by developing both graphics and computer code functionality.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

1) Plans, develops, maintains, and improves ACC's web presence.
2) Creates and maintains online versions of ACC printed materials produced by the Public Information and College Marking (PICM) publications department to ensure proper working order; addresses and resolves issues.
3) Designs and develops websites and other systems; develops custom graphics and computer code for new websites.
4) Identifies, designs, creates, and implements new or updates existing web marketing solutions.
5) Maintains webpages and trains staff to make routine edits.  Ensures consistency across all departmental webpages.
6) Creates, documents, and updates procedures and guidelines.
7) Provides graphical and technical support, training, and procedural information to users, ACC personnel, and the public, on website, system, or project utilization.  May manage permissions for related G-Suite applications.
8) May maintain databases that include student applicants, counseling referrals, and survey responses.
9) Researches new products and services that can be implemented to improve the effectiveness, functionality, and appearance of ACC's webpages.
10) Communicates and interacts with Information Technology and the public on all topics including solution deployment and maintenance of new projects, the use of said projects and support items regarding the project.
11) Identifies issues, researches options by reviewing available resources; makes determination if a custom built solution is required; implements policies and procedures to make a solution usable.
12) Engages in special projects that may involve working with multiple groups with a specialized focus; collaborates with other web admins to troubleshoot college-wide applications.
13) Provides recommendations in relation to website navigation, usability, and accessibility.
14) May generate site reports to track user interest and identify potential issues.

  • Basic sound and video editing skills

  • Attention to detail and proofreading skills

  • Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.

  • Use web scripting languages and digital imaging software.

Required Work Experience

* Two years related work experience.

Required Education

* Associate degree.

Four years of related work experience may substitute for this education requirement. Applicants who substitute work experience to meet the education requirement must use additional related work experience to meet the years of "Required Work Experience" for this position.  Please note that the college reserves the right to amend these terms of substitution at any time.

Physical Requirements

* Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
* Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
* Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Salary Range

$54,044 - $67,555
