Assistant Coach - Soccer Programs
Job Description
Southwest Virginia Community College (SWCC) offers career-training programs in numerous technical, industrial and medical fields at a reasonable cost, going so far as to even waive tuition for certain eligible students. Located in Richlands, Virginia, SWCC offers associates degrees in such fields as business, education, general studies, liberal arts and science. These degrees are primarily intended for students who wish to transfer to a four-year university. SWCC also has associates degrees that feature programs intended to lead directly to a career in fields such as Nursing, Radiography and Administration of Justice.
Southwest Virginia Community College located in Richlands, Virginia, is seeking an Assistant Coach to work with the Athletics Department for its Mens & Womens Soccer programs. Position will report to the Athletic Director.
The assistant coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in developing and maintaining successful NJCAA Mens & Womens Soccer programs.
The assistant coach duties include but are not limited to:

- Recruiting athletically and academically qualified students
Retaining students in the program
Planning and conducting practices
Fundraising; budget preparation and management
Other secondary duties as assigned
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of soccer coaching or playing experience at the high school level
- Must be computer literate
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Willingness to work nights and weekends
Must be knowledgeable of NJCAA regulations and must be committed to adhering to all NJCAA, VCCS, and institutional regulations
Valid drivers license
Must be able to work under challenging physical conditions
Must be able to lift heavy items up to 50 pounds per OSHA standard
