Job Description:

General Statement of Job

To provide design services (digital and/or print) to ABI member companies, as well as ABI staff.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reviews existing collateral and evaluate the needs of the client. Works with clients on achievable size projects that directly relate to the business. Assists client in strategy on dissemination. Keeps record of projects in progress and completion for ABI reporting.

Knowledge

Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

  • Mastery of standard software suites, including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Understanding of typical business needs, especially that of entrepreneurs.
  • Familiarity with styles and formats used for logos, webpages, brochures, info graphics etc.

Skills

Must possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a strong customer-orientation when working with diverse team.
  • Effective planning, organizing, communication, and interpersonal skills including use of tact and discretion and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Competency in understanding and following instructions precisely, working with lab equipment, and safely working with lab materials.
  • Adeptness to interact effectively with others of diverse backgrounds.
  • Capacity to maintain an established schedule.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of work related information and materials.

Technology Skills

  • Use a variety of design, word-processing, database, and presentation software.
  • Use related office equipment and software applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a variety of settings including office and laboratory.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling and occasionally stooping, crawling, and climbing. .
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to survey assigned lab spaces for safety issues.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or educational equivalent; current GPA 2.8 and above.

Other Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of industry jargon.
  • Knowledge of web design and layout.
  • Social media prowess

Safety

  • Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.

$20.00/hour
