Postdoctoral Associate in the Division of Nutritional Sciences Molecular Nutrition Lab

The Aydemir’s lab of Molecular Nutrition in the Division of Nutritional Sciences is seeking a full-time postdoctoral researcher. Dr. Aydemir’s research group investigates the metabolism and transporter-mediated function of micronutrients, zinc, and manganese in mammalian systems. These studies involve the integration of the techniques in biochemistry, molecular, cellular biology, neuroscience, and physiology to micronutrient biology and related disorders. The ideal candidate for this position would be a motivated individual able to work independently. The successful candidate will be expected to perform in vitro cell culture assays and in vivo laboratory animal (mice) research. This is a one-year appointment with a possibility of renewal depending upon satisfactory job performance and funding availability.

Anticipated Division of Time:

70% Research, 15% Data Analysis, 15%Writing

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, Immunology, Nutrition, Physiology or related fields.
  • Proof that all Ph.D requirements have been fulfilled before the start date is required.
  • Willing to work with and handle mice. 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently. 
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Pay Range:

$54,840.00 - $75,000.00

Pay Ranges:

The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:

  • Prior relevant work or industry experience.

  • Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.

  • Academic Discipline (faculty pay ranges reflects 9-month annual salary)

  • Unique applicable skills.
