Under the direction of Senior Signage Specialist, receive specialized training to be able to design and produce College Signage using specialized equipment and processes to comply with College signage standards, Americans with Disabilities Act, and specialty signs as required by the campus community. Initiate signage and provide training for office technicians.
Assist Banner Specialist, with hanging, replacing, repairing of college banners, and feather signs.
Communicate with customers regarding sign requests, wording, needs, questions, sign design, composition, coordinate sign installation with crafts, and vendors, perform signage installation, follow-up with completion, costs, billing, open and close work orders, maintain and track budgets.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Make, install signage and banners.
Communicate with customers.
Proactively check and look for signage problems, create work orders to repair outdated or damaged signage.
Other duties as assigned.
One (1) to four (4) years of direct signage, banner, and graphic design experience.
Two (2) years post high school education/training (60 completed credit hours) or an Associate’s degree.
High School Diploma or GED.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-Graphic design, making all types of signage, banners, hanging and installation.
-Able to gain proficiency in the following: -Accurately operate Laser printer, 3-D printer, Vision 2448 Router, Vision Pro 3D, Gerber GS-15 Plotter, Image Scanner 256, Vinyl Beveller, Gerber Omega 5D, Super Pro 3.5; 4.0, Braille (hot dots); Office equipment, small hand tools.
-Knowledge of: MS Word/Windows.
-Excellent customer service skills – communicate effectively both written and verbally.
-Self-motivated, ability to work independently and in a team.
-Valid Utah driver’s license or able to attain one.
-Must be able to lift 40 – 60 lbs.
-Follow the policy and procedure for Campus Advertising and Posting on all Salt Lake Community College Properties and Campuses.
-Installing advertising/marketing materials throughout SLCC campus locations to include lamp posts, poles, walls etc., informing the community of specific events.
-Use of lifts/ladders in a safe and efficient manner consistent with SLCC and department policies.
-Use computer programs (Sprocket) to schedule and track requests from various departments/organization.
- Follow internal policies regarding removal and return of advertising materials to originating department.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College. Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities
