Kilgore College is a comprehensive public community college with a campus in Kilgore and campus in Longview, Texas. With approximately 5,000 students, Kilgore College is a student-centered institution characterized by excellence in teaching and learning. Kilgore College - Longview offers a wide variety of credit, non-credit, and vocational courses. This position is for a part-time Barber instructor.

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will report to the Cosmetology Program Director. Duties will include the following: implementing and facilitating the instructional process relating to the Barber Certificate. Provide classroom and clinical instruction; supervising students as they perform client procedures; prepare class syllabi and tests. Maintain records; recruit and advising students. Other duties as assigned by the Cosmetology Program Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

All applicants must have a current Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Barber License. Some working experience as a Barber. Teaching experience preferred but not required. Applicants must possess good written and verbal communication skills; have good computer skills; be well organized and thorough; work well with little supervision; ability to deal professionally and courteously with a diverse student, employee, and client population.

Salary Range & Fringe Benefits:

• This position is part-time and pays $15-$20 per hour.

Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program. As a result, employees/retirees of the college are subject to the federal Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and possibly the Government Pension Offset (GPO) laws. Positions will remain open until filled. Teaching positions will be required to submit official transcripts upon an offer of employment. An offer of employment will be contingent upon passing a background check. Federal law prohibits the employment of unauthorized aliens. All persons hired must submit satisfactory proof of employment authorization and identity within three (3) days of being hired. Failure to submit proof within the required time shall result in immediate employment termination. All position appointments are subject to approval by the college's Board of Trustees.

All positions are located in Kilgore, TX. No fully remote positions are available at this time. All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus.
