Aircraft Maintenance Technician (A&P) Instructor

Job Description

Minneapolis College has an opportunity for a part-time temporary instructor during Fall Semester 2023, in our Aircraft Maintenance A&P Technician Program at https://minneapolis.edu/academics/school-trade-technologies/aircraft-maintenance-technician

Program Features:
  • Located in Delta Air Lines Building C at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.
  • Teaches Federal Aviation Administration Airframe & Powerplant curriculum (14 CFR Part 147)
  • Consists of three cohorts of 25 students each
  • Prepares students to pass A&P license examination & obtain employment as aviation maintenance technicians
  • One of 49 Delta Air Lines “Preferred” aircraft maintenance technician A&P schools with access & support of one of nations largest air carriers

 


Instructor Responsibilities:
  • Teach lecture & lab courses to very diverse student population at MSP International Airport
  • Back-up liaison with Federal Aviation Administration & Delta Air Lines
  • Edit instructional materials as needed
  • Assess student performance
  • Participate in department meetings
  • Utilize campus technology to maintain A&P maintenance technician skills & connect with faculty, staff & students

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirement:
  • Diploma in aviation maintenance

Occupational Experience Requirement:
  • Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid occupational experience in aviation maintenance

Recency Requirement:
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

Professional Requirement:
  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant License (FAA 147 Requirement)

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience in technical school or community college
  • Computer skills in MS Office & educational learning systems
  • Experience developing/using student learning strategies
  • Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery
  • Experience assessing student academic achievement
  • Masters degree or equivalent
