This role will lead the design, deployment, and analysis of surveys and focus group activities at a premiere community college in the western United States and a national leader. Reporting to the Data Science Research Manager, this role will produce written summaries of findings from research and present the findings to senior leadership members. Working with colleagues from across Data Science & Analytics, Academic Affairs, and Student Affairs you will have the opportunity to produces research that will have a direct and positive impact on student’s success.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Design, implement and conduct college-wide surveys and focus groups. Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses of data results from these methods. Produce written summaries of results for college leaders, or present findings in person.
Assist users throughout the college in implementing surveys for their departments. Provide feedback to these users about survey methods and design. Assist with grant-related survey design, implementation and analysis.
Administer, analyze and communicate course evaluations. Work with college leaders to improve the course evaluation process.

Experience with Qualtrics
Experience administering focus groups
Demonstrated ability to communicate about data visually and verbally
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social science or relevant field of study
Demonstrated experience designing and deploying surveys and analyzing the data
Zero (0) to three (3) years of direct related full time experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of survey research—questionnaire design, advanced sampling design, survey statistics, analysis, and reporting
Knowledge of qualitative research – text analysis and focus groups
Exceptional interpersonal skills—you have experience leading projects involving cross-functional teams
A real passion for setting new standards for survey research methods as well as crafting and executing impact-driven research
Excellent written and verbal communication skills—you excel at telling stories with data, rather than just reporting on trends and statistics
Ability to turn complex problems into simple hypotheses and survey recommendations
Can translate raw data into a language stakeholders can relate to
Ability to self-direct, multitask, and prioritize a constantly evolving workload
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
