Technical College of the Lowcountry is seeking an innovative Business & Industrial Technology Dean dedicated to student success and to meeting the diverse needs of our students and community. The Dean of B & I Technology has direct responsibility for the programs of the Business & Industrial Technology Division. Primary leadership responsibilities include planning, developing, implementing and evaluating B & I programs; leveraging all of the college's business & industrial technology education offerings to ensure business & industrial technology industry needs are met; building and sustaining partnerships that promote the Business & Industrial Technology Division's programs; and, collaboratively developing activities that lead to improved student learning. Primary management responsibilities focus on promoting student success through effective and proficient utilization of personnel, financial and material resources and the division's programs and activities.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A master's degree in education administration, educational leadership or a closely related disciplinary field. The position requires three (3) years progressively responsible related work/teaching/higher education experience. Including developing and implementing outcomes-based curricula; and, experience implementing activities that improve student learning and success.
An earned doctorate and a minimum of five (5) years of academic management experience preferred. Proven leadership and management skills. Desired leadership competencies include strategic thinking, influence skills, courage, and the ability to translate institutional vision to the B&I division, project management, motivating action using teams, and delivering results. Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations in the community and within the college.
Technical College of the Lowcountry is a public two-year technical college with three campuses, which serve four counties in the southern coastal region of South Carolina.
