The Neuroscience Researcher shall assist CHS in the support of the Vision Center of Excellence (VCE) in the advancement of vision-related education, training, and readiness and vision rehabilitation education across a wide range of constituents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in the development of research and educational project goals and objectives.
Research and report new and historical trends on identified research topics.
Assist in the development of Clinical Best Practices, educational courses, presentation materials and webinars specific to VCE efforts.
Research, write, and edit manuscripts, reports and publications.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
Must possess a PhD in Neuroscience from an accredited university.
A minimum 8 years in biomedical research.
A minimum of 3 years in writing scientific documents, vision specific preferred
A minimum of 5 years in government contracts, preferred
DoD, VA and/or DHA experience, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Background in vision-related studies and writings.
Demonstrated expertise in vision research
Excellent skills in written and spoken communication
Excellent time management skills and organizational abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
