Position Information

Location As assigned.
Note: Position will work between Round Rock Campus and Highland Business Center
Hours 19 hours/week HOURLY
Salary $18.25/hr
FLSA Status Non-Exempt
Reports To Manager, Student Affairs Communication
Criminal Background Check Pre-employment criminal background checks are required for all Staff and Faculty positions. Pre-employment urinalyses drug screens are also required for all top candidates considered for positions in ACC's College Police department.
General Statement of Job

 

With little direct supervision, provides very complex specialized services and support to department, office, or program.

 

Information for This Posting Only

 

  •  

    Responsible for organizing communication and social media between Student Affairs and key stakeholders that will support student outreach and program development for identified underserved students and communities to help foster equity in student success. This position will serve as a resource for faculty, staff, and students and host engaging dialogue and events that celebrates and support a diverse college experience. Support the Student Affairs Communication department in creating lasting systemic and institutional change in regard to programs, policies, etc., that serve to promote and support the college's strategic vision around the areas of equity and inclusion and meet the needs of diverse faculty, staff, and student populations.

 

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  1. May work in a specialty area within a department or office.
  2. May coordinate, evaluate, develop, and implement specialized materials to support departmental programs.
  3. May provide training or support training programs.
  4. Assists with general reporting and maintenance of databases as required.
  5. May provide information to others regarding processes, programs, and/or procedures.
  6. May review and process documents, maintain databases, and provide reports.

 

Additional Job Specific Duties

 

  •  
    1. Coordinates student success and equity communication initiatives on behalf of Student Affairs Communication.
    2. Collaborates with the Student Affairs Multimedia & Social Media Coordinator to create engaging outreach plan for diverse audiences, inclusive of social media, web presence, email and print communication .  
    3. Serves as a liaison to plan, promote, and coordinates equity-centric events for the college in collaboration with key stakeholders (LGBT eQuity, Faculty, Student Life, Office of Equity & Inclusion etc.)
    4. Assist Student Affairs Communication in proactively and reactively addressing institutional issues related to diversity and advocacy.
    5. Collaborates with the Student Affairs Multimedia & Social Media Coordinator to create engaging outreach plan for diverse audiences, inclusive of social media, web presence, email and print communication .  
    6. Serve as a liaison between identified underserved and marginalized (African American, Hispanic, Asian, LGBTQ+, Low-income, etc.) students, staff, and faculty members to best communicate wrap-around services.
    7. Assist in the recruitment and retention communication to identified underserved and marginalized students and communities (African American, Hispanic, Asian, LGBTQ+, Low-income, etc.).
    8. Assist Student Affairs Communication in proactively and reactively addressing institutional issues related to diversity and advocacy.
    9. Assist Student Affairs Communication in measuring campus climate progress through analyzing and synthesizing relevant data.
    10. Remain current on best practices and emerging trends in equity, inclusion, and engagement, and apply that knowledge to inform work with Student Affairs Communication.
    11. Spearhead LGBTQ+ supportive policies and procedures on campus, including the organization and facilitation of the college's Ally Training program.
    12. Oversee the sale of Riverbat Rainbow merchandise through the college marketplace.

  •  Associates or Bachelor's Degree in related field.

  •  This position will require traveling between campuses so reliable transportation will be required.

 

Other Preferred Qualifications

 

  •  Fluency in written and oral Spanish.

 

Physical Requirements

 

  •  Work is performed in a standard office environment.
  •  Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  •  Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds.

ACC Benefits Overview

Full-time Faculty and Staffing Table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the College are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short and long term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.

ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by Federal law.
