Responsibilities*

Lab Operation Management responsibilities include:

  • Supervising 3 or more full-time equivalent employees and the operations of the Medlab inclusive of all aspects of HR
  • Establishing goals, and schedules and coordinates laboratory administration, including purchasing and maintenance of laboratory equipment and supplies
  • Monitor and prioritize resource usage of projects that use lab resources
  • Define standards, create processes, and maintain project planning infrastructure/materials
  • Develop and implement procedures for effective data management
  • Provide assistance and training resources when needed by any team member, including technical mentors
  • Create and manage complex IRB applications + Train staff and serve as consultant in regulatory policies/procedures
  • Manage the company's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor s degree required, Masters or beyond preferred
  • At least one year of management experience

Desired Qualifications*

  • 1 + years of experience in the medical education space
  • Experience with Asana
  • Experience managing employees

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
