The successful candidate will:
Assist teachers with classroom duties; implement standard-based, child-centered lesson plans.
Assist with maintaining a safe, healthy and attractive learning environment both inside and outside.
Substitute as required in the absence of other staff members.
Model developmentally appropriate teaching techniques consistent with current best practices.
Follow NC Licensing Requirements and Center policy to guide and direct children to develop self-discipline.
Relate instructions or observations concerning children to the teachers.
Attend Center staff meetings, family meetings, and training sessions as required.
Participate in professional development activities.
Use materials and equipment appropriately.
When appropriate, assemble new supplies and equipment as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
High School diploma and a minimum of the NC Early Childhood Credential and one year of experience in a child care setting.
Satisfactory criminal records check, current medical examination, and Health card as required by law.
Excellent communication, both oral and written, skills are necessary. Must have experience with Microsoft Office.
Must be able to fully engage in physical activity. Must be able to kneel, stoop, sit on the floor, stanf for a long time, demonstrate and engage in activities like jumping, dancing, walking and running.
Must move objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds over a distance greater then 80 feet.
Must be able to life and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Applicants not meeting this minimum requirement will not be considered for this position.
Must have a North Carolina Class B Drivers License or obtain within 30 days of employmnet.
An Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, NC Early Childhood Credential, and two year experience working in a child care setting.
