Duties: Assists in coordination of day to day activities and services of the nursing lab area including scheduling, lab set up, and management of lab equipment and supplies. Assists with coordination and management of lab equipment and supplies to nursing labs at Vernon, Seymour, and Century City Campuses. Assists with tutoring and/or supervision of students in the lab and/or coordination of the work of other nursing faculty. Provides assistance to nursing faculty and/or students in a clinical lab setting.Ensures that the lab/classroom is clean, safe, and organized; promotes safe lab practices. Repairs or coordinates the repair of lab equipment as required/assigned. Assists with coordination of ordering and re-supply of consumable lab equipment; assists with conduction of annual equipment inventories. May research, evaluate, and recommend new lab materials, equipment, and experiments. Complies with BON accreditation requirements. Assists with establishment and updating of laboratory policies and procedures. Updates the Nursing Skills Lab website on Canvas as assigned. May be required to teach a clinical section each semester. May be asked to assist with clinical supervision in case of absence of designated faculty. Some travel between Wichita Falls, Seymour and Vernon.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in nursing. Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in Texas. Minimum of two years experience in a clinical setting. Ability to communicate effectively. Current CPR certification. Flexibility with hours. Computer skills including use of Microsoft Office applications. Ability to promote an effective learning environment for students from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
Preferred: Simulation lab experience. Three years medical/surgical nursing experience.
This is a 9 month position available August 1, 2019. Salary range is $37,495 - $42,850 based on education and experience. Applicants for teaching positions are required to present a 5 minute teaching demonstration at interview.
