Part-time Physical Therapy Assistant Faculty
Job Description Summary
The Montgomery College, Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, is currently accepting applications for a Part-time Faculty member to teach for the Physical Therapy Assistant degree program. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.  
 
***Montgomery College accepts applications for Adjunct/Part-time Faculty on a continuous basis. Applications may be reviewed periodically based on the student enrollment needs. ***
 
• The listing of a course in the schedule of classes as “TBA” does not constitute an assignment.
• The hiring decision for part-time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management’s sole discretion.
Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Facilitate student learning of clinical skills with clear, specific, and timely feedback on cognitive, psychomotor and affective performance;
Evaluate skill performance during practical examinations using scoring rubrics provided for the course;
Participate in remediation of student skills, if needed;
Required Qualifications:
 
Must be eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor.
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program, or deemed equivalent program. 
A current, unencumbered Maryland, District of Columbia, or Virginia license or the ability to obtain licensure. 
Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience (post licensure experience) as PT or PTA
Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving skills
Knowledge of legislative, regulatory, legal and practice issues affecting the supervision and direction of licensed or student physical therapist assistants. 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
Member of the American Physical Therapy Association (www.apta.org ) .     
Earned status as an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor.
Minimum of 1 year of clinical teaching and/or clinical coordination experience (service as Clinical Instructor to PT or PTA students or as Center Coordinator for Clinical Education).
Prior teaching experience in PT or PTA program or equivalent teaching and learning coursework.
Active in clinical practice, especially as applicable to clinical skills in the course content.
