Access Assistant for Students with Disabilities
Attends class/lab with student for duration of semester.
Acts as reader and/or scribe, including note taking before, after or in class, lab, or testing environment.
Facilitates computer and technology access as appropriate.
May assist access to technology as appropriate.
May describe graphics or pictures in the classroom, lab or testing environment. May assist student with object manipulation during laboratory classes as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Description of Duties and Tasks
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
May work in a specialty area within a department or office.
May coordinate, evaluate, develop, and implement specialized materials to support departmental programs.
May provide training or support training programs.
May review and process documents, maintain databases, and provide reports.
May provide information to others regarding processes and procedures.
May assist with general reporting and maintenance of databases as required.
Knowledge
Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

Texas Success Initiative (TSI) complete in reading, writing and math or as required by the course student is taking.
Other Preferred Qualifications
Math/Science background (not required for all positions)
Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
Occasional lifting of objects up to 30 pounds.
Safety
Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
