Job Description
The mission of the Educational Services Department is to support students, mitigate barriers, and help them achieve success. The faculty support position will provide primary clerical, reception, high-level technical and classroom support to faculty with minimal direct supervision. This position supports faculty members assigned during the academic year, maintains communications for the office with other parts of the campus and the public, and directs and oversees student employee work. This position provides back-up support for other faculty support staff during the academic year and supports the Educational Services Unit as directed.
Anoka-Ramsey currently operates in a hybrid work environment, which includes the option of some telework days. The hiring manager and the successful candidate will work together to determine a schedule that meets department needs.

Required Qualifications
  • English (speaking, reading, and writing) skills sufficient to interpret and respond to internal and external customers in a clear and concise manner
  • Customer service skills sufficient to respond effectively, professionally, and discreetly with a diverse range of populations at all levels of the organization including students, faculty, staff, and administration while making independent decisions regarding workload priorities
  • Keyboarding skills sufficient to type a variety of documents accurately, sufficient to produce forms, memoranda and other materials in an efficient manner
  • Excellent word processing and transcription skills for preparing correspondence, memos, agendas, minutes, documents and reports, utilizing correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Spreadsheet skills sufficient to manage downloaded information from various sources. Ability to enter, compile, store and retrieve data in order to prepare a variety of reports using software such as Microsoft Excel
  • Transcription skills sufficient to listen to and interpret peoples recorded speech without omissions and put it into correctly punctuated, grammatical sentences; edit materials for typographical and textual errors, assemble and certify completed transcripts and records; and review and edit reports or dictated materials for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper terminology

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment and success working in a diverse multi-cultural and multi-racial community
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and complete work assignments proactively and independently with frequent interruptions
  • Experience as an administrative assistant, secretary, or other related position
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, D2L, ISRS, SharePoint and other software programs
  • Ability to recognize sensitive/confidential issues and act accordingly while maintaining confidentiality at all times
  • Organizational skills to prioritize projects, working independently and/or under pressure, in order to meet deadlines
  • Technology experience in Kaltura, Dragon Speak, Camtasia Studio or similar software programs
