Coordinator of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) Makerspace

Work Schedule: Full Time, Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.

Salary Range: $45,026-$54,168

FLSA Status: Exempt

*This position is contingent upon grant funding.

Summary

The primary function of the STEAM Coordinator is to provide support for the school of Educations Makerspace STEAM program through the coordination, development and delivery of STEM initiatives in the Morgan and Main Campus sites. This role collaborates, at all levels of the organization, on STEAM activities and ensures that the initiatives are being implemented and utilized in alignment with curriculum and accreditation standards through professional development and training in the classrooms. Must be able to travel to all LCCC sites as needed for mandated meetings and conferences. Flexible hours but may need evening hours for after-school events. Reports to the Dean of Education, Computer Science, and Online Learning.

Salary is restricted to above range and will not exceed the maximum of the range. Salary offers are non negotiable and offers are determined and are based upon related work experience submitted on resume.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Maintaining the safety of the STEAM environment and of the students utilizing the equipment
  • Ensure user supervision within the makerspace during scheduled hours
  • Track use of equipment and maintain equipment use logs for budgeting purposes
  • Maintain all equipment including supplies and material stock for users
  • Ordering consumables for the STEAM environment
  • Helps to oversee budget for STEAM supplies and upkeep
  • Direct supervision over STEAM curriculum delivery
  • Collection of Data related to STEAM Lab usage at Morgan and Main Makerspace.
  • Developing and facilitating professional development and community educational workshops
  • Works with Faculty to develop and deliver course specific STEAM curriculum
  • Scheduling Room Usage
  • Coordinate Community Events within the STEAM Lab
  • Staying abreast of new developments and trends of STEAM in education programs
  • Submit and manage grants to further the Teacher Education programs and Makerspace
  • Recommends and guides program expansions.
  • Participates in regional and national organizations.
  • Work with college relations in the development and maintenance of multi-media content to advertise facility, STEAM activities and partnerships
  • Support the development of outside funding by working with the colleges grant and foundation offices for federal funds through grants or other means such as donations or sponsorships
  • Carries out special projects or assignments as assigned.
  • Monthly reporting with LCCC administration
  • Performs other assignments as needed

 

Required Qualifications

 

Required

Education

  • Masters degree from an accredited institution.
  • Foreign degrees – must provide a US equivalency report of your degree credentials with your transcript, if not, your resume will not be accepted.

Certifications

  • Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance Fingerprinting)

Work Experience

  • Administrative experience, finance, organizational and computer skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Ability to perform in a highly efficient manner while handling multiple tasks.
  • Must possess a high level of the following work skills and behaviors: teamwork/cooperation, initiative, customer service, and commitment to continuous professional growth in skills and knowledge.

Preferred

  • Candidates with a background in education and adult training delivery will be given preference.
  • Knowledge of the Professional Development registry and PQAS certification.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
