Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

University Human Resources (UHR) has an exciting opportunity for a professional to serve as the primary point of contact coordinating and administering learning courses, as a Learning Coordinator. (LC)
The Learning Coordinator position will serve as a primary point of contact on the UMD campus to coordinate and administer learning courses within the Workday Learning system. The scheduling, follow-up, facilitation, and tracking of the New Hire Employee program will also be the responsibility of this person.
Working with a small team, the Learning Coordinator has the responsibility to oversee the departments training schedule and calendar, and training dashboards. This position will produce training handouts, job aids, marketing blasts, and other learning resources as needed.
The Learning Coordinator must engage in outstanding customer service to meet the needs of diverse university staff and other internal/external customers. In order to be successful in this position, the incumbent must be organized, adaptable, creative, and team-oriented

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience
Two (2) year of professional experience in the administration, coordination, or delivery of Learning and Training programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience with facilitating training programs developing learning tools and materials
  • Experience with designing/deploying successful promotional and learning materials
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with employees from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Strong presentation skills; excellent written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills
  • Action-oriented: works with a sense of urgency, deploys engagement campaigns rapidly
  • Takes the initiative on engagement actions and seeks opportunities, self-starter

Preferences:

Preferences:
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, having intermediate to advanced levels in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Graphics Design abilities preferred.
  • Excellence verbal and written communication skills
  • Degree or experience related to Learning, Graphics, Web Design, ODI, or Human Resources.
  • Demonstrated graphics design skills and experience with social media marketing preferred

This is a primarily a sedentary position involving extensive use of desktop computers. The position does occasionally require walking some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
